From a fresh install to your first server
Your servers are already saved somewhere: bring them in without typing one, and be on a terminal in about a minute.
Termiyo’s first-run setup brings in the servers you already have — from ~/.ssh/config, saved PuTTY sessions or a Termius CSV — shows what it found before it imports anything, lets you pick the look, and leaves you one press from a terminal on your server. Use it the first time you open Termiyo; every page after the first is optional.
The first-run setup reads your servers from where they are, shows you what it found before writing anything, lets you pick the look you will work in, and then gets out of the way. Everything after the first page is optional.
Steps
Install and make your vault
Download Termiyo for Mac, Windows or Linux and open it. It asks for a password for your vault, which is where your logins and keys are kept, encrypted on this device.
Pick where your servers are
The setup opens at “Add your first server”. Under “Bring in the servers you already have”, choose the source: “SSH config” reads the hosts in ~/.ssh/config, “PuTTY sessions” reads your saved sessions, and Termius takes its CSV template or an exporter’s file. “Look on this computer” searches for servers other apps have saved.
Host web-01 HostName 203.0.113.10 User deploy IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_ed25519Check the preview, then import
Termiyo lists what it found, with anything it could not bring across named under “Not imported”. Tick the servers you want and press “Import” with the count, then “Done”.
Make it yours
The setup goes on to “Pick your AI assistant” and “Make it feel like home”: light or dark, a terminal theme from seventy, and the text size. Each choice is saved as you make it, and “Continue” moves on.
Skip what you do not need yet
“Connect your tools” and “Your account and Cloud sync” are there for later. “Use without an account” finishes the setup, and the menu’s Getting started row counts what is left.
Connect
Pick the server in the menu on the left. The first time, Termiyo shows the server’s key under “First connection to this server”; press “Connect” and the key is remembered, so a changed key is flagged next time.
Good to know
- Nothing saved anywhere yet? Use “Add a host by hand” in the same setup, or “This computer” to open a shell here with no server at all. You can import later from the Servers page.

Your servers are already saved somewhere: bring them in without typing one, and be on a terminal in about a minute.
First, install Termiyo and set one password for your vault.
Choose SSH config, and every server in it comes in.
Check the preview, then import. Nothing is written until you have seen it.
Pick light or dark, a terminal theme from seventy, and your text size. Each choice is saved as you make it.
Tools and an account can wait. Use it without an account, and Getting started keeps the list.
Pick the server and connect. Its key is checked and remembered, so a changed key is flagged next time.
